Amartya Sen receives Spain’s top award in social sciences
- Spanish Prize Foundation announced that Indian economist and Nobel Laureate, Amartya Kumar Sen will be awarded Spain’s Princess of Asturias Award in the Social Sciences category.
- Amartya Sen, 87, was chosen among a pool of 41 candidates from 20 nations in the Social Sciences Award.
- The Award is represented by a Joan Miro sculpture & comprises a cash prize of 50,000 Euros, a diploma, and an insignia.
